At Evans Dental located in Mermaid Beach, we understand that many people have a fear of undergoing dental treatment, so we offer Intravenous Conscious Sedation (aka “IV sedation”). This is when a drug, usually of the anti-anxiety variety, is administered into the arm during dental treatment.

During IV Sedation you remain conscious and are able to understand and respond to requests from your dentist but you will experience a feeling of deep relaxation and the procedure will be less painful. What’s more, your experience will seem to take less time!

Your safety is important to us

IV sedation is extremely safe when carried out under the supervision of a specially-trained dentist however if you are pregnant, have an allergy to benzodiazepines, are intoxicated, have CNS depression or glaucoma, please let us know as these conditions may affect IV Sedation.
